Umrah Packing List & Ihram Guide

By the Raahi Team5 min readUpdated June 2026

Pack light, pack right. This checklist covers everything a pilgrim from Pakistan needs — plus a quick guide to wearing Ihram correctly and avoiding the most common mistakes.

Essentials to pack
  • Ihram garments (2 sets for men)
  • Modest, comfortable clothing
  • Unscented soap & toiletries
  • Comfortable walking sandals
  • Small bag for shoes at the Haram
  • Medications & a basic first-aid kit
  • Documents folder & photocopies

Wearing Ihram correctly

For men, Ihram is two white unstitched cloths — one wrapped around the waist (izar) and one over the shoulder (rida). Wear it before the Miqat after performing Ghusl. Women wear ordinary modest clothing; there is no special garment.

Common mistake: Avoid scented soaps, perfumes and deodorants once in Ihram. Pack unscented alternatives so you don’t have to think about it.

A few smart extras

A foldable bag, a refillable water bottle, and a small pouch worn under your Ihram for documents and cash make daily life at the Haram much easier.
